The Challenge
Integral Security Group was contacted with less than 24 hours’ notice to support the Royal Melbourne Show, one of Victoria’s largest public events. The client faced an urgent and unexpected increase in security requirements due to higher-than-anticipated crowd numbers following the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
Their existing plan could no longer accommodate the revised headcount and risk profile. They needed a security provider that could respond immediately with qualified personnel, a flexible operational model and comprehensive oversight of crowd and asset protection. The situation demanded a full-scale mobilisation with precision coordination and rapid deployment of resources.
Our Solution
We responded without hesitation, activating our management and operational teams to reallocate rosters, reassign duties and prepare staff within hours. Leveraging our internal communication systems and personnel databases, we matched the right people to the most critical positions, prioritising experience, licensing and situational awareness.
Our managers coordinated sign-on and deployment daily and adapted shifts as event dynamics evolved. Despite significant logistical complexity, we executed a scalable, responsive solution that protected all stakeholders and maintained public safety.
The Result
By the end of the first day, we had the entire week rostered and began planning ahead for the following week’s schedule. Our operations team remained on-site throughout the event, overseeing daily check-ins, issue escalation, and post-event reporting. Across the duration of the show, more than 1,000 hours of labour were delivered.
The client experienced no further disruptions, and the show concluded safely and successfully. Our ability to mobilise rapidly, implement a robust deployment strategy and provide real-time support demonstrated our capability to operate under extreme pressure while meeting the highest standards of security performance.
